Borough AwardsPresented to a community group from each borough that has led It’s My Park and other programs, and has demonstrated exceptional organizational growth.
Bronx – Friends of Crotona Park
Brooklyn – Friends of Hope Ballfield
Manhattan – Tom’s Dog Run Committee
Queens – Green Earth Urban Gardens
Staten Island – Natural Resources Protective Association
The Community Parks Initiative Award: Friends of Astoria Heights ParkPresented to a developing community group that has succeeded in engaging new stewards through programming and service opportunities.
The Tim Tompkins Leadership Award:  500 Men Making a DifferencePresented to a community group that acts as an inspirational role model for NYC Parks volunteers and demonstrates the leadership and vision of Partnerships for Parks’ founder, Tim Tompkins.

This It's My Park season! Join the Astoria Park Alliance at Astoria Park on May 16th for some family fun as we re-imagine Charybdis Playground. Starting at 10:30 a.m., children can create postcards to send to Pearl the Squirrel about "What they would like to see in their playground!" 

We will also ask adults for adult input, because it's your park too. There will be additional children's activities as well.

Registration is open for the annual Run for the Parks with






City Parks Foundation’s annual Run for the Parks! Presented in partnership with New York Road Runners, this 4 mile, NYC Marathon qualifier race is one of the largest single day running events in Central Park.

Proceeds help CPF present free, high-quality sports and fitness programs in parks across the city.

City Parks Foundation brings free sports and fitness instruction to more than 12,000 boys and girls ages 5–16 in parks throughout the city. CPF provides free equipment and instruction for tennis, golf, and track & field programs all summer long. 

City Parks Foundation sports instructional programs emphasize learning the basics of a given sport that can be played for life, and developing self-esteem, discipline, and sportsmanship.

Summer is just around the corner! A local group of dedicated tree stewards are 
looking to help prepare their local tree beds for the hot summer months ahead.
