Building Park Equity [NYC.gov]

Building Park Equity

NYC Parks is targeting and supporting investment in our most under-resourced parks and communities. This will help us cultivate better parks and open spaces across the city. The new approach outlined in the new Parks Framework will help us to meet existing open space needs and to anticipate new ones as neighborhoods grow and change. We will protect the investment in parks that we have already made, while working to improve the quality, accessibility, efficiency, and sustainability of the overall park system and of the parks that serve New York City's diverse neighborhoods throughout the five boroughs.

Every October, more than 4,000 volunteers paint a brighter future for
NYC public schools.
Rally friends and coworkers on Saturday, October 18, 2014, when we’ll paint a brighter future for New York City public school students. Volunteers spend the day creating murals, painting classrooms, planting bulbs, and working with the school community to prepare for the school year ahead.
