... the group has rescheduled the daffodil planting to October 18^th, where residents can meet by the Field House at 10:30 am.  Gilpin said It’s My Park Day is a long standing tradition for parks all around the city, and the group will continue to host a Spring and Fall event in the future.  The group, however, will be calling for volunteers for its Leaf Fest next month, where participants rake and dispose of leaves in Astoria Park.  The Leaf Fest cleanups will be held on November 8^th, 15^th and 22^nd, starting at 10:30 am by the Field House. ...

Join thousands of New Yorkers who come together each It's My Park Day season to volunteer and celebrate their neighborhood parks and public spaces throughout the five boroughs! It'sMyParkDay, presented by  Partnerships for Parks, works with hundreds of community parks groups to lead clean up events in neighborhood parks all across the city.
Partnerships for Parks is a public-private partnership led by NYC Parks and the  CityParksFoundation .

Here's a schedule of activities:
10:30 am-12:30 pm - Daffodil Planting, meet behind the Field House 

11:00 am-12:00 pm - Zumba on the Terrace Roof at Astoria Park Pool. Join us to move, shake, and get groovy! 

11:30 am-2:00 pm - Share your Vision for the Playground! Charybdis Playground. Want to see a bigger plaground in Astoria Park? Stop by and let your voice be heard!! 

1:00-2:00 pm - Puppet Show on the Big Lawn

APA Volunteer Days are an expansion of our already great partnership with NY Cares and in response to the large amount of requests we get from the public to volunteer in Astoria Park. Volunteer opportunities average twice a month, March through November.
