!Important Update! Due to expected weather It's MY Park Day in Astoria Park cancelled for Oct 04.


We are sorry to have to cancel October 4th, It’s My Park Day in Astoria Park. Regretfully, the heavy rain and early thunderstorm predictions for Saturday go beyond the scope of a “Rain or Shine” event description. The good news is that Daffodil Bulb Planting will be moved to October 18th! 

Oct 18 Saturday
Meet at 10:30 am behind the Field House. Wear long pants and closed toe shoes. Also, please save the dates for Leaf Fest, November 8, 15, and 22. See you in the Park!

... the group has rescheduled the daffodil planting to October 18th, where residents can meet by the Field House at 10:30 am.  Gilpin said It’s My Park Day is a long standing tradition for parks all around the city, and the group will continue to host a Spring and Fall event in the future.  The group, however, will be calling for volunteers for its Leaf Fest next month, where participants rake and dispose of leaves in Astoria Park.  The Leaf Fest cleanups will be held on November 8th, 15th and 22nd, starting at 10:30 am by the Field House. ...

Saturday, October 4th
Join us to welcome the fall as we celebrate Astoria's green space.

Here's a schedule of activities:
10:30 am-12:30 pm - Daffodil Planting, meet behind the Field House 
11:00 am-12:00 pm - Zumba on the Terrace Roof at Astoria Park Pool. Join us to move, shake, and get groovy! 
11:30 am-2:00 pm - Share your Vision for the Playground! Charybdis Playground. Want to see a bigger plaground in Astoria Park? Stop by and let your voice be heard!! 
1:00-2:00 pm - Puppet Show on the Big Lawn 
There's something for everyone - join us!

Saturday, October 4 at 11:30am 
Join us for a short ride over to Astoria Park for a picnic to celebrate the end of the summer season! Please pack your own lunch. Dessert will be provided! All participants will receive a free Bike New York t-shirt. To register, please contact

APA Volunteer Days are an expansion of our already great partnership with NY Cares and in response to the large amount of requests we get from the public to volunteer in Astoria Park. Volunteer opportunities average twice a month, March through November.

The Astoria Park Alliance works closely with Park Managers to identify need, plan work projects, and facilitate volunteers on the ground.
